Let a woman learn quietly with all submissiveness. I do not permit a woman to teach or to exercise authority over a man; rather, she is to remain quiet. For Adam was formed first, then Eve; and Adam was not deceived, but the woman was deceived and became a transgressor.

1 Timothy 2:11-14

In the context of this letter, Paul was not instructing women not to teach. Paul, during his ministry, commanded and supported women leaders and teachers in the early Church.

Paul writes in this verse that “women, learn in silence full of submission” was instructing that women should first learn, being educated in the Faith before they teach.

He also thought that women don’t assume superiority over men. He used Adam and Eve as a reference to correct women acting domineering toward men, bringing to their consciousness that women were created to be partners with men and not to dominate men.

Acts 18:26 – Bible examples of great women

“He began to speak boldly in the synagogue. When Priscilla and Aquila heard him, they invited him to their home and explained to him the way of God more adequately.”

Acts 18:26

Acts 18_26

Priscilla and Aquila had observed some deficiency in Apollo’s speech at the synagogue while he was teaching and took notice of it.

Since the Jewish tradition forbids a woman to teach in public, here is a woman who had full knowledge of God’s word yet didn’t make a mockery of Apollo’s errors but decided with her partner to help him know the truth with the purpose to spread the validity of the Gospel.

Hence, it is observed that women of knowledge and light, thouthey GH may not be allowed to speak in public, ought to communicate what they know about Divine things in private for the benefit of others.

Paul, in this verse, asked that the Church help the two women who labored with him in ministry.

The help here was not referring to the temporal wants of the women, which it does not appear they were in. But by assisting them with good counsel and giving them thproperht instructions in Gospel.

Having disagreedononn some issues while working with Paul, he requested that the women be helped resolve their differences.

And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”

This, however, may contradict Paul’s teaching that women c, could pray or prophecy. Still, it is not asarerayer, and prediction is allowed if the woman is dressed correctly.

Here what Paul meant by “remain silent” in his words was that women should not engage with men in general matters in Church or be in an argument with men in matters of doctrine.

1 Timothy 2:12-15

I do not permit a woman to teach or to exercise authority over a man; rather, she is to remain quiet. Pauencouragedge, especially leaders, to teach with patience when faced with opposition.

Conclusion:

Women play significant in the Church and have various gifts, but they must use God’s plan.

The Church shouldn’t allow feminism to spread there. Women in leadership positions should be viewed as a chance to serve God and people on earth rather than as a chance to confront males.
