The Bible is a sacred text that contains many verses about going to Heaven and coming back.

Heaven is described as a place of eternal joy and peace where believers in God can go after they die.

This blog article will cover all the Verses in the Bible that Speaks about Heaven, death, and what happens afterward;

Bible Verses About Going To Heaven

Going to Heaven is not just a simple matter of dying and being resurrected, going to Heaven takes faith, repentance, and obedience to Christ.

I will examine 21 Bible verses about going to Heaven in this article.

John 3:16 – God sacrificed His only Son out of love for His creation.

“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.

John 3:16 (ESV)

John 3_16

God sacrificed His only Son out of love for His creation—fallen humans fashioned in His likeness but sinned against their Creator God, creating an impassable chasm between man and his Creator.

However, He gave His loving Son to live a perfect life and die a sacrificial death out of goodness, grace, mercy, and love so that everyone who believes in Him will not be condemned but will live eternally in Heaven.

John 3:13 – The Son of Christ.

No one has ascended into heaven except he who descended from heaven, the Son of Man.

John 3:13 (ESV)

John 3_13

Jesus Christ, Lord as the perfect Son of Man and the everlasting Son of God, was in Heaven before the world was created; he was the One Who descended from His heavenly home to be born into the race of sinful man.

Only spiritual birth from above may remove a person’s spiritual blinders and make them eligible for admission to God’s kingdom.

And God has communicated with us through the Son of Man, Jesus Christ, whom He has designated as the heir to all things.

He is the only one to have ascended into Heaven, as He is the only one to have descended from Heaven to become our Kinsman-Redeemer.

John 14:2 – There is life in Him.

In my Father’s house are many rooms. If it were not so, would I have told you that I go to prepare a place for you?

John 14:2 (ESV)

John 14_2

Jesus had imparted to His followers the truths that only He and His Word are the roads to the Father and that there is eternal life in Him.

God’s Word is just as true today as it was 2000 years ago, and keep in mind that Jesus said it.

We may be brokenhearted, lost, blind, or sorrowful, like the disciples, and we may not understand, but God’s Word is still valid. “If it weren’t true, I would have told you that there are many mansions in my Father’s home, and I’m leaving to set up a space for YOU.”

1 Corinthians 2:9 – He was going to prepare a place for us in His Father’s house.

But, as it is written, “What no eye has seen, nor ear heard, nor the heart of man imagined, what God has prepared for those who love him”

1 Corinthians 2:9 (ESV)

1 Corinthians 2_9

But as it is written, the eye has not seen, ear has not heard, nor has it entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love Him and wait for Him; Paul was referring to Isaiah 64:4.

God has revealed through His grace that He has prepared marvelous and unique things for people who love and rely on Him.

We do not know all the beautiful things being prepared for us, and the Bible reminds us that we cannot even imagine what they could be.

However, the Lord Jesus Himself said He would prepare a place for us in His Father’s house.

Let us live knowing that when we wait on the Lord, the Lord will welcome us into Heaven and the mansion He has prepared for us.

John 14:6 – He is the way.

Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.

John 14:6 (ESV)

John 14_6

Jesus said He IS the Way, not merely that He would show us the way, and he is the only means by which a fallen man can approach the Father.

Jesus had to go through Calvary’s crucifixion to arrive at that crucial moment in global history, where His unselfish death broke down the impenetrable wall separating sinful man from a holy God.

Jesus Christ is the Way. Jesus Christ is the Truth. Jesus Christ is the Life.

Let’s consider this wonderful reality and fully comprehend its significance, for whoever is saved by grace through faith in Him will enter Heaven.

Revelation 1:1 – Without Jesus, Nothing Else Matters.

The revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave him to show his servants the things that must soon take place. He made it known by sending his angel to his servant John,

Revelation 1:1 (ESV)

Revelation 1_1

As John reminds us in Revelation 19: “The witness of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy,” Jesus is the subject of prophecy, and He is ultimately the One who fulfills all prophecy.

The Lord Jesus Christ is the central figure revealed to us; nothing else in its pages would matter without Him.

Let’s lift Jesus as the source and summit of our faith and the surest path to the Father.

Matthew 25:46 – Stand Strong In Faith.

And these will go away into eternal punishment, but the righteous into eternal life.”

Matthew 25:46 (ESV)

Matthew 25_46

In this passage, the Lord Jesus has promised us that if we follow in his footsteps and the path he is clearing for us, we will be granted passage into Heaven.

Let us stand up strong in faith to resist the devil, so we will be qualified to be amongst those in Heaven.

Acts 4:12 – Those Who Trust In The Deity And The Finished Work Of Jesus Will Be Saved.

And there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.”

Acts 4:12 (ESV)

Acts 4_12

Men search for redemption without having to repent of their sins. They yearn for everlasting life and eternal beauty but will not admit that they are sinners who need salvation.

Because the blood of Christ paid the payment for every man’s sin, salvation can be found only in Him.

Furthermore, those who trust in the deity and the finished work of Jesus will be saved. However, without the Savior, men look for salvation.

By keeping our hearts set on Him and our minds attentive to His still, small voice, let us exalt that magnificent name of JESUS and fight against the lies of the world, the lusts of the flesh, and the snares of the adversary. We are saved—spiritually and morally when we believe in Christ.

Romans 10:9-13 – Only God Has The Ability to Read Hearts.

Because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart, one believes and is justified, and with the mouth, one confesses and is saved. For the Scripture says, “Everyone who believes in him will not be put to shame.” For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek; for the same Lord is Lord of all, bestowing his riches on all who call on him. For “everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.”

Romans 10:9-13 (ESV)

Romans 10_9-13

Only God can read hearts, and he alone can tell whether a person truly believes Christ died for their sins and rose again.

Because as the apostle John reminds us, “every spirit that confesses that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is from God, and the Spirit of God abides in him.”

Every spirit that confesses that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is from God, and the Spirit of God abides in him once that hidden heart’s decision to trust in Christ for salvation is met.

Philippians 3:20-21 – Live with Integrity.

But our citizenship is in heaven, and from it, we await a Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ, who will transform our lowly body to be like his glorious body, by the power that enables him even to subject all things to himself.

Philippians 3:20-21 (ESV)

Philippians 3:20-21

Our lives should be lived with integrity, whether they are lived in public or privately, and heavenly citizenship should be a highly valued objective.

Since we are all His representatives and ambassadors from Heaven, our conversations and actions should honor our King and demonstrate the righteousness of Jesus, in whose character we are clothed and covered.

Because we are a heavenly people with a divine heritage and a heavenly King, and because one day, very soon, we will be in Heaven with him, our lives should be holy, as should our methods.

Bible Verses About Going To Heaven After You Die

Let’s look at the Bible verses about going to Heaven after death.

Below are a few of them;

2 Corinthians 5:8

Yes, we are of good courage, and we would rather be away from the body and at home with the Lord.

2 Corinthians 5:8 (ESV)

We will be held accountable when we leave this life to the next, whether it was excellent or horrible.

He makes it clear in that text that our actions and the reasons behind them will be tested by fire and that God’s consuming fire will consume everything that is not of Him.

We won’t be punished for anything that was done improperly in the eyes of the Lord; instead, those things will be burned up, leaving no trace that we ever committed them. We shall merely receive compensation for our actions.

Revelation 14:13

And I heard a voice from heaven saying, “Write this: Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord from now on.” “Blessed indeed,” says the Spirit, “that they may rest from their labors, for their deeds follow them!”

Revelation 14:13 (ESV)

Those who “die in the Lord” are undoubtedly blessed. In the Lamb’s book of life, their names have been recorded. As they entered the kingdom, the angels were jubilant.

Jesus will return to raise them from the dead and exalt them after He has gone to make a place for them in His Father’s house.

They will spend all of eternity with Jesus on the brand-new earth and Heaven.

In the meantime, they are with the Lord and not in the body at the time of death.

And they’ll spend all of eternity with Jesus wherever He is.

Every Christian should be glad for these blessings because they are gifts of God’s grace made possible by His Son’s accomplished work.

Philippians 3:20-21

But our citizenship is in heaven, and from it, we await a Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ, who will transform our lowly body to be like his glorious body, by the power that enables him even to subject all things to himself.

Philippians 3:20-21 (ESV)

This text urges us not to put our faith in our fleshly selves.

We are advised on what to do and what not to do, guidance on how to grow in the faith, and encouragement to run the course set before us with joy and victory.

All Christians begin the process of sanctification as soon as they are saved, striving to become more like Christ with zeal, tenacity, and endurance.

Paul urges us to continue moving forward in anticipation of that happy hope and the magnificent coming of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ.

2 Corinthians 5:6-8

So we are always of good courage. We know that while we are at home in the body we are away from the Lord, for we walk by faith, not by sight. Yes, we are of good courage, and we would rather be away from the body and at home with the Lord.

2 Corinthians 5:6-8 (ESV)

What a sure assurance we have as Christians that death is not something to be dreaded but rather an opportunity to enter into the joys of our heavenly home with our Savior, Jesus Christ, all of eternity.

We live in a tent on the ground, and as long as we are in this physical form, we cannot be with our glorified Savior in paradise.

God has, therefore, in His kindness, given us the gift of His dwelling Holy Spirit as a promise and assurance that we will one day spend eternity with the Lord.

1 Thessalonians 4:13-18

But we do not want you to be uninformed, brothers, about those who are asleep, that you may not grieve as others who have no hope. For since we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so, through Jesus, God will bring with him those who have fallen asleep. For this, we declare to you by a word from the Lord, that we who are alive, who are left until the coming of the Lord, will not precede those who have fallen asleep…

1 Thessalonians 4:13-18 (ESV)

We have hope in Christ and certainty that our tears will one day be wiped away by God Himself and that our laughter will replace our tears of despair.

The power of death and its sting were only entirely and finally broken at Calvary when Christ triumphed over sin and Satan. The Old Testament saints had a limited grasp of death and resurrection.

1 Corinthians 15:55

“O death, where is your victory? O death, where is your sting?”

1 Corinthians 15:55 (ESV)

In earlier verses, Paul paints a beautiful, multicolored picture of everything that awaits those who put their faith in Christ as Savior.

It makes sense why His uplifting and motivating soliloquy culminates in this timeless truth: “Where is your sting, death? Where is your victory, O grave?”

 Prayer

Devoted Father, I praise and thank You for Your magnificent plan, which You intended in Christ, by which the triumph of Christ’s Resurrection absorbs the authority and success of death.

All adulation and honors are due to you, in the name of Jesus; amen.

Bible Verses About Going To Heaven And Coming Back

What then happens after going to Heaven? Do we stay there permanently or do we come back?

Below are Bible Verses that speak about going to Heaven and coming back;

John 11:25

Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in me, though he dies, yet shall he live,

John 11:25 (ESV)

Let us never lose sight of the fact that God is at work in us every day to increase our faith, no matter how tiny, so that we can depend on Him no matter what challenges we encounter.

His Word is unwavering yesterday, today, and forever.

Hebrews 9:27

And just as it is appointed for man to die once, and after that comes judgment,

Hebrews 9:27 (ESV)

To freely give His life as a ransom for everyone who believes in the name of our Lord Jesus, He had to share our frailty as human beings.

For us to share in His life, He shared our humanity.

Man is only meant to pass away once, but for the Christian, Christ’s death served as both our death and our salvation, and His suffering served as the recipient of God’s wrath rather than ours.

John 5:24

Truly, truly, I say to you, whoever hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life. He does not come into judgment but has passed from death to life.

John 5:24 (ESV)

Faith is acquired by hearing; thus, the more we hear the gospel, the more it permeates our being, and the more we firmly believe what the Bible says.

We have heard His Word, believed the Father Who sent Him, and “are given eternal life, and will not come under judgment but have passed from death to life” if we believe “that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, that He was buried, that He was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures.”

Ecclesiastes 12:7

And the dust returns to the earth as it was, and the spirit returns to God who gave it.

Ecclesiastes 12:7 (ESV)

Remembering your Creator in this life is crucial because after this life is gone, one will answer to the everlasting God and eternity.

Then the dust will return to the earth as it was, and the spirit will return to God who gave it.

John 5:28-29

Do not marvel at this, for an hour is coming when all who are in the tombs will hear his voice and come out, those who have done good to the resurrection of life, and those who have done evil to the resurrection of judgment

John 5:28-29 (ESV)

Prayer

Thank You, Heavenly Father, that I have received Your resurrected life within my frail body and have been redeemed by grace through belief in the atoning death and glorious resurrection of Jesus.

Thank You for the fact that there is no longer any condemnation in Christ.

I have already crossed over from death to life in Him, and I am confident that I will be saved either at the rapture or when the dead-in-Christ arise from their graves.

Knowing my life is currently hidden with Christ in God, I will be raised incorruptibly. Praise be to His holy name for all eternity, AMEN.

CONCLUSION

In conclusion, the Bible contains many verses about going to Heaven and coming back. These passages provide comfort and hope for believers, assuring them that Heaven is their true home and that they will one day be reunited with their loved ones who have passed away.

The Bible also reminds us that we must live our lives in a pleasing way to God so that we may be worthy of this great reward.

Though we may not understand everything about the afterlife, we can trust in the promises of God and look forward to the day when we will be welcomed into Heaven.
