Have you ever wondered why we should be careful about fear and worry? Is that really how we should live? What are some Bible verses that help us when things get tough? I will share with you 19 Bible verses to help make you think.

In the Sermon on the Mount, Jesus taught that we should not be anxious or fearful. Instead, he said that we should be courageous and self-assured.

Fear is a sign of unbelief. We are not afraid because God has anything to fear from us but only because we do not believe Him to be able to keep us safe from harm.

Bible verses on fear, anxiety, and worry.

In a world filled with fear, anxiety, and worry (fear, of course, is an attitude or condition caused by or showing a lack of trust), we often ask ourselves: “What can I do?” The Bible offers advice that may help. Here are Bible verses on fear, anxiety, and worry.

Philippians 4:6

“Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.”

 Philippians 4:6

This Bible verse shows that there is nothing prayers cannot do. Don’t be in anxiety about anything; anytime you face difficulty, pray to God. Instead of being anxious, worried, and afraid of your problem, pray to God. Let your request and burden be made known to him.

 Psalm 34:17

“When the righteous cry for help, the LORD hears and delivers them out of all their troubles.”

Psalm 34:17

This Bible verse shows us that in all things, we should pray to God as his children, and he will consistently deliver us out of our trouble. So instead of telling our problem to man, we should pray to God. He is always there to save us. So don’t be afraid, worried, or anxious about anything; God is always there for us.

2 Timothy 1:7

“For God gave us a spirit not of fear but of power and love and self-control.”

 2 Timothy 1:7

The Lord God didn’t create us with fear and timidity; he created us with solid minds and gave us the power to sudden everything that makes us uncomfortable.

We don’t need to worry or be anxious about anything because the power is already with us; it was given to us from creation; from the day we were born, we were born with passion, love, and strength to conquer the world. God never create us with the spirit of fear; let us all be strong and courageous, for the Lord God is always with us.

Matthew 6:25

“Therefore I tell you, do not be anxious about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink, nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothing?”

 Matthew 6:25

Have you ever wondered about the birds in the air, the fishes in the River, the animals in the bush? How do they manage to survive in seasons and times?

The Lord God created us very different from them, yet they don’t worry about anything, they give thanks to God daily. So then, we who were created in God’s image and likeness don’t have to worry about anything.

We don’t have to worry about food, clothes, or even care of life; the life we live is very precious than clothes. Don’t be anxious about how tomorrow will be because the Lord already plans it for us. All we have to do is to praise him for his steadfast love instead of being anxious, worried, and afraid of tomorrow.

Luke 12:25-26

“And which of you by being anxious can add a single hour to his span of life? If then you are not able to do as small a thing as that, why are you anxious about the rest?”

Luke 12:25-26

This Bible verse shows how Jesus encourages us as his followers not to be anxious about the things of life. We never request life, but he gives us for free; if he can provide us with something as precious as life, then other things are minor to him.

We can’t add to our life no matter the nutritious meal we eat and the level of hygiene that we have; the Lord is the only one that sustains us. So, therefore, we shouldn’t be anxious about the things of life.

Matthew 11:28-30

“Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.”

 Matthew 11:28-30

This Bible verse shows how Jesus assures all those who are worried, anxious, and afraid of some good rest. The burden can make life to be unbearable for Man, and it can cause worry, fear, and anxiety for Man.

That’s why the Lord doesn’t want men to be bothered about anything in life, and he said we should come unto him that he will give us rest from thinking, anxiety, fear, and worries.

Psalm 55:22

“Cast your burden on the Lord, and he will sustain you; he will never permit the righteous to be moved.”

 Psalm 55:22

This Bible portion shows that when we cast our burden on the Lord, he will make everything easier for us. So instead of crying, complaining, worrying, being afraid of the unknown, and living in anxiety, we should live everything in God’s hands and rest.

When we cast our burdens on the Lord, we see how he takes over our needs and makes things work out for us miraculously.

 2 Thessalonians 3:16

“Now may the Lord of peace himself give you peace at all times in every way. The Lord be with you all.”

2 Thessalonians 3:16

This Bible verse shows us that there is nothing as crucial as Peace in the life of Man. He gives us his Peace to ease our burden. Every man needs Peace in life, no matter the level of his riches; if there is no peace, the man is nothing. That’s why the Lord gives us his Peace to ease us from worry, fear, and anxiety.

John 14:27

“Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid.”

John 14:27

This Bible verse shows how Jesus loves us so much that he gives us his Peace. He gives us eternal Peace, very different from the one the world gives.

He knows we need Peace to be in good health; that’s why he gave us his Peace so that we won’t be worried about anything. His Peace is forever, and nothing can shake his Peace in us. So therefore, don’t be afraid or worry about anything because the Lord’s Peace is sufficient for us.
